Elizabeth Gomez: Miss Muffet Updated for 2014

muffetLittle Muffet, non-gender specific preferred because this poem is about people, not gender.

Sat on a tuffet that was made by hand by local residents of Battlecreek, Iowa; all proceeds to benefit Chums, a non-profit that pairs seniors with dogs that are not bred by puppy mills, rather they are adopted from a no-kill shelter.

Eating her organic, artisanal, grass-fed, sugar, and gluten free curds and whey.

Along came a colorless arthropod because people are afraid of arthropod of all types and colors, not just spiders.

Who sat down beside and frightened Muffet away, but was able to find Muffet via Facebook and work out their differences.
