I have not been to a game since I moved away from St. Louis nearly a decade ago, but the Turkey Day game, a football match that has been played between Kirkwood and Webster high schools for over a hundred years, will always be my favorite Thanksgiving tradition.

My family has been involved with running the chains at these games for as long as I can remember (My Uncle founded the Kirkwood Chain Gang in 1969) and my aunt was shot during an attempted carjacking coming out of the game at Webster in 1993.
She survived.
